Bio

Chemical Mass, a dynamic quintet hailing from Jefferson City, Missouri, has been making waves since their inception in early 2014. With a lineup featuring Steve Walters, Tom Troesser, Brad Toebben, Lucas Schroer, and Jim Perkins, their musical journey has been nothing short of exceptional.

From their initial foray into the mid-Missouri music scene with a gripping 4-track demo that included standout numbers like "Denial" and "Nibiru," Chemical Mass demonstrated a clear vision. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Karnivool and Tool, their sound took shape.

In 2015, they made their digital debut with the release of "Beyond What You Know," a single that resonated with fans and critics alike. The following year, "Secrets and Lies" showcased their ever-evolving songwriting prowess, marking a turning point in their artistic journey.

The pivotal moment came in the fall of 2017 when Chemical Mass teamed up with the talented Jason Schrick of JPS Productions. This partnership led them into the studio, where they collaborated with Jason Schrick and Ian Eddy at Kevlar Soul Records in St. Peters, MO, to craft the captivating single "Tempted," released in the summer of 2018.

Despite the challenging circumstances brought about by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Chemical Mass remained resilient. They continued to light up local stages and had the honor of sharing them with the renowned band SALIVA, showcasing their adaptability in both unplugged and full production shows.

In 2022, the band ventured into the studio with the accomplished Tim Hanson at North Village Recording in Columbia, MO. Their quest for musical excellence took them to Nashville, TN, where they collaborated with the multi-platinum producer/engineer Malcolm Springer. During this productive period, they crafted two eagerly anticipated singles, "Evolution" and "Reach (for the sun)," scheduled for release in 2023.

Chemical Mass's journey is a testament to their unwavering dedication and evolving artistry, leaving an indelible mark on the world of rock music.
